After returning to Canada from studying abroad in France, Marcia stayed just long enough to obtain her Bachelor of Commerce Degree before relocating to the Cayman Islands in 1997 where she has lived and raised a family ever since. Marcia was introduced to Pilates more than 20 years ago and she was instantly hooked. In 2018, Marcia earned her BASI Global Comprehensive certification as well as a BASI Injuries and Pathologies certificate. She is presently studying for her Pre/Postnatal Movement through Pilates certificate. Through her years as an avid runner, she has had to battle several injuries and eventually 2 hip surgeries which has challenged her to find the right balance in her fitness routine which now includes Pilates, strength training, running and spinning. Marcia's personal experience with injury rehabilitation, as well as maintaining her fitness while raising 3 children gives her a unique persective and empathy for those dealing with similar issues. Maintaining an active lifestyle for her and her family is very important to Marcia and she believes that you should find an activity that you love and do it for life!
After working for over 5 years as a Kinesiologist in Canada, Deanna moved to Grand Cayman in 2003 and has been teaching Pilates and fitness in Cayman since 2008. She is a Stott Pilates Certified Instructor and holds a Bachelor Degree in Kinesiology (human movement). She is also a Certified Exercise Physiologist (Canada) and is Titleist Performance Institute Certified. She has experience training people dealing with a variety of injuries including post-physio rehab, lower back issues and general postural issues through her work in Physiotherapy and Chiropractic clinics in Canada. Deanna is an active runner, swimmer and stand up paddleboarder and more recently has added cycling into the mix to balance it all out! Deanna knows Pilates is an ABSOLUTE winner when it comes to helping improve mobility, stability, mindfulness and core strength in anyone, no matter what their age or physical ability and is a true believer that Pilates has something to offer everybody!
Katie originally trained to become a Pilates instructor in London back in 2003 with the Body Control Pilates Association. She taught mat work and prenatal Pilates classes for several years in south west London before moving to the Cayman Islands in 2007. Here she taught small groups and private clients for 5 years at a local Physiotherapy clinic before taking a break to raise her young family. In 2017, Katie returned to Pilates and completed the BASI Global Comprehensive Training program. She believes Pilates should be made accessible to everyone, from patients coming out of rehab to elite athletes. Katie enjoys working in the studio as the small class sizes allow everyone to benefit from individual attention and care. For Katie, the beauty of Pilates is the enormous scope of exercises which can all be modified to suit anybody, whatever their background, ability level.
Originally from Switzerland, Belinda started her professional classical ballet education in Geneva when she was 15 years old. She continued her studies in the State Academy of Classical Dance in Mannheim, Germany and completed her education as a classical dancer at the University of Arts in Zurich. She furthered her Contemporary Dance technique in New York City at the Alvin Ailey School and returned to Switzerland to gain experience performing with the Cinevox Junior Company and the Zurich Opera-house. She successfully completed her Master of Advanced Studies in Dance Pedagogy at the Zurich University of Arts in 2011 whilst teaching ballet, contemporary, modern and folk dace across all age groups and levels. She has continued to teach both dance, conditioning and fitness throughout her travels from Switzerland, America, Australia and the Cayman Islands. It is here that she has settled down to raise her family and share her love of dance. She believes in creating a fun and exciting learning environment that challenges you to give your best. The study and practice of movement has always been part of Mallory’s life. She is a classically trained ballet dancer and after her formal study ended she pursued, and continues to enjoy, all manner of sport and dance, from athletics to aerials, for the joy of movement. Having taken a detour for a career in law, in 2016 Mallory returned to her first love and began to pursue a career in Pilates. She qualified with Polestar Pilates in London, U.K., in 2019 after earning a diploma in their Comprehensive Teacher Training Course. Mallory has a passion for teaching functional and efficient movement patterns for every day life and for sport.
