Marcia Milgate

Marcia moved to the Cayman Islands in 1997 where she has lived and raised a family ever since. She was introduced to Pilates more than 24 years ago and she was instantly hooked. In 2018, Marcia completed her BASI Global Comprehensive certification, as well as a BASI Injuries and Pathologies and Pre/Postnatal Movement through Pilates. Growing up in competitive sport and through her years as an avid runner, she has had to battle several injuries. Eventually 2 hip surgeries challenged her to find the right balance in her fitness routine which now includes Pilates, strength training, walking and still some running. Marcia's personal experience with injury rehabilitation, as well as maintaining her fitness while managing a family, gives her a unique perspective and empathy for those dealing with similar issues. To her Pilates is a functional tool to help you build strength, agility, flexibility and manage pain.  Training your brain to engage the right muscle groups which allow you to improve and successfully return to the activities you love is the goal.  Maintaining an active lifestyle is very important to Marcia and she believes that you should find an activity that you love and do it for life!
